It looks as though I have a job now after my final interview. I am very happy about his, but another maybe more important thing I found out along my jobless way was how much support and friendship I saw on facebook and twitter. So much is made these days about the negative aspects of excessive social networking, but I have found it to be rewarding, as I have connected with old friends from the past and made new contacts with people I have met here in Lakeland. I just think it all comes down to how it is used. So here is my vote for continued Facebooking and Twittering!

May I just say (hopefully without offending Missy) that you have a verrrrry sexy voice! No kidding.

Well I don't know What to say but thanks. I used to be a DJ I'd that helps. I was trying a new ap for by phone that let's you record and upload to twitter and facebook. You will be seeing more voice updates in the future.

Ask me anything

If you could instantly become fluent in another language, which language would you pick?

Spanish. I think it is the most widely used in my neck of the woods. Helpful in business too!

Ask me anything

If you could eliminate one thing you do each day in the bathroom so you never had to do it again, what would it be?

Shave! Without question!

Ask me anything

Do you believe in luck?

I believe in Divine intervention. If that is luck, so call it!

Ask me anything

What's the best gift you've ever given?

Some of the jewelery I have given to my wife as been nice, but I think some of the trips, where we have been together, have been the best.

Ask me anything

What's the longest you've ever gone without a bath or shower?

You can ask me another question, ya know! Seven days in my younger years and that is all I am going to tell you!

Ask me anything

Asheville in September

We are going to my moms for both a labor day visit and high holidays a little a later in the month, and I must say it will be great to see her and get out of the house I have spent too much time in during my period of unwork. The beautiful colors and softer way of living that seems to be there will do both Missy and I a lot of good. I will also get to visit with my sister as well, so it's a win all around. Family, a good thing to get near and stay close to in times like these. I will not forget this lesson ever again.

Ham biscuits on a Saturday

My wife is fixing me ham biscuits and Gouda grits this morning. Then we will be out for a day of roaming around. This period of unwork is teaching me to enjoy the small things more. It is a good lesson for the whole of life. Good can come out of any period in your life. Even the times that seems the darkest. Just a thought.

A good productive day

I went to a job fair today and did get two pretty good job leads from it. The important thing in this time of unwork is to stay positive and be constructive in the things I do. The focus should be on making my prospects better, and I am glad to say I am doing that. I look forward to more days like this where I can go to bed at night firm in the knowledge I helped my chances for employment and shortened my time of not working.

A nice weekend at Anna Maria

Well, it is Sunday morning and we are getting ready to head out to the beach again. Then back to the house in Lakeland and the realities of life. It is indeed nice to be able to do this and recharge for the strength that life does require right now. I am so lucky to have the loving family and wife that I have. It is always best to focus on what you posses, and not what you do not have, to give just the right perspective on life. It is luckier still to have those close to you keep in in that mind frame when you drift out of it. Have a super Sunday everybody!

Think about this!

Go to yahoo and read their article and read what a Trillion dollars will buy...want Lebron James or 50 THOUSAND years...you got him....want over 40 MILLION cars...they are yours...this gives you an idea of the monumental state of the US deficit..which INCREASED by a Trillion this year..."I wanna be a Trillionaire so freakin bad!!" LOL

A few good words

One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore".
No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage.....And old cars... And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way. Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?

Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back. And. just in case I'm gone tomorrow:

I LOVE YA!!!

Live today because tomorrow is not promised.
Good stuff!! Read and consider please!

On the hunt

Well it is day 4 of my job search and I continue to explore available options. I am being very careful in the jobs I am applying for. I am asking myself if it is a job that I would enjoy doing and would fit what I am trying to accomplish in my jobs objectives. I have also filed for unemployment. I will keep all up to date. I thank all who have given me this support in this tough time, from my loving wife to my good relatives and friends!

Be vigilant in your search

As you all can see from the pictures the French bulldog was not quite vigilant enough on her search for bacon. A lesson to us all: if it is worth doing look hard and long and success will be yours!
